
Oak Door Installation in Hook – Honest Advice on Damaged Door Delivery
This visit involved fitting customer-supplied internal oak doors at a property in Hook. Once the doors were unpacked on site, one of the units was found to be damaged from delivery or handling before installation began.
The customer was informed straight away and shown the issue so they could decide how they wanted to proceed. We explained that the damage could potentially be filled and repaired, but the better long-term option would be to return the door to Wickes for a replacement so both doors matched properly and had a cleaner final finish.
To keep the project moving, the undamaged door was professionally fitted during the visit. It was measured, adjusted to suit the existing frame, and installed with the correct hinges and hardware so it opened and closed smoothly.
We then arranged to return and fit the replacement door once the new unit was received. Honest advice and clear communication helped the customer avoid fitting a damaged product and ensured the final result would be right.
