How we fit internal doors in Farnborough

We start by checking the opening and taking proper measurements before any cutting is done. The door is then trimmed where needed, hung correctly, and adjusted so the gaps are neat and the latch lines up properly. If the frame is slightly out or the old door never shut right, we work around that so the finished fit feels right and works as it should.

Trusted Internal Door Fitters in Farnborough

We keep the job straightforward and do it properly from the start. We turn up when booked, work cleanly, and do not leave you with sawdust everywhere or doors that still need fiddling with once we are gone. A lot of doors that need replacing have been badly fitted before, dropped hinges, uneven gaps, locks that do not catch, doors scraping the carpet, so we pay attention to the small details that stop those issues. It is a family-run business, and that shows in how the work is handled. No dragging jobs out, no guesswork, and no passing over problems hoping you will not notice.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Getting Started

Can you fit a new internal door if the old frame is slightly out?
Yes. That is common, especially in older houses. We check the frame first and fit the door to the opening, so it sits and closes properly instead of catching or leaving a big gap on one side.
Do all internal doors need trimming?
Not all of them, but many do. Even when a door is sold as the right size, floors, linings and older frames can all affect the fit. We only trim what is needed to get it working properly.
How long does it take to fit an internal door?
That depends on the door and the condition of the frame. A straightforward fit is quicker, but if the lining is out, old ironmongery needs moving, or extra adjustments are needed, it takes longer to do it properly.
Can you fit hinges, handles and latches too?
Yes. We can fit the ironmongery as part of the job, so everything is lined up properly and the door not only looks right but works properly day to day.
What if my new door still sticks after it is fitted?
It should not be left like that. We check the swing, the clearances and the closing action before the job is finished. The aim is to leave you with a door that shuts cleanly without rubbing or needing a shove.
Will there be much mess during the fitting?
There can be some dust and shavings when trimming is needed, but we keep the work area under control and clear up after ourselves. You should not be left dealing with a mess once the fitting is done.
