How it Works

What Our Door Fitting Service Covers

Door fitting involves more than simply hanging a door. Our service covers the full process needed to make sure each door fits properly, works as it should, and is finished correctly. That includes checking measurements, preparing the opening, fitting the door, installing locks and hardware, making adjustments, and carrying out final checks before we leave.

1
Initial Enquiry

Get in touch and tell us what you need fitting. Rough measurements and basic details are fine to start with. We’ll ask a few straightforward questions and explain the next step clearly.

2
Measuring & Assessment

We check the door opening, frame condition, and surrounding area to confirm what’s required. Measurements are verified on site so the door can be fitted correctly, even if adjustments are needed.

3
Professional Door Fitting

We check the door opening, frame condition, and surrounding area to confirm what’s required. Measurements are verified on site so the door can be fitted correctly, even if adjustments are needed.

4
Locks, Handles & Adjustments

Locks, hinges, handles and other hardware are fitted and adjusted carefully. Everything is tested to ensure smooth operation and reliable long-term use.

5
Final Checks & Compliance

We carry out final checks to make sure the door closes properly, locks correctly, and meets safety requirements where applicable. The area is left clean and tidy once the work is complete.

5
Old Door Removal

We can remove and dispose of your existing door if needed. This can be arranged when the work is booked and added to the job as an optional service.

Door Types

Types of Doors We Fit

We fit a wide range of internal, external and fire doors. Below are the most common types we work with day to day.

01

Standard Internal Doors

We fit standard internal doors in bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces, including panel and flush designs. These are fitted to suit existing frames, with clean margins and smooth operation.

02

Internal Glazed Doors

Glazed internal doors are fitted to allow light to flow between rooms while keeping spaces separate. This includes clear, frosted and patterned glass options commonly used in home offices and living areas.

03

Internal Sliding Doors

Sliding internal doors are a practical option where space is limited. We fit surface-mounted and wall-mounted sliding doors, ensuring proper alignment and secure fixings.

04

Internal Pocket Doors

Pocket doors slide neatly into the wall cavity and require accurate fitting. We regularly fit pocket doors as part of renovations and layout changes where space saving is important.

05

Internal Bifold Doors

Internal bifold doors are commonly used for cupboards, utility areas and room dividers. We make sure panels fold evenly and track systems run smoothly.

06

Internal French Doors

French doors and internal double doors are fitted to connect larger spaces while still allowing separation. These are aligned carefully so both doors open, close and latch correctly.

01

Timber External Doors

We fit solid and engineered timber external doors to suit both modern and traditional properties. Each door is fitted with attention to weather sealing, alignment and long-term durability.

02

Timber Front Doors

Front doors are fitted with security and insulation in mind. This includes accurate fitting, correct clearances, and installation of appropriate locks, handles and door furniture.

03

Secure External Doors

Where security is a priority, we fit external doors with suitable locking systems and hardware. This ensures the door closes properly, locks cleanly and provides a solid seal.

04

Other External Doors We Fit

If your external door isn’t listed above, it’s still likely something we work with regularly. We fit a wide range of external doors in different materials, styles and configurations, and we’re happy to look at your setup before any work goes ahead.

01

Internal Fire Doors (FD30 / FD60)

We fit fire-rated doors where required in flats, rental properties and managed buildings. Fire doors are fitted with the correct clearances, hinges and hardware to ensure they perform as intended.

02

Fire Doors for Managed Properties

Fire door work in managed buildings is carried out with care and consistency. We understand when fire doors are required and fit them accordingly, without unnecessary complication.

03

Fire Door Replacements

Where existing fire doors need replacing, we remove and refit doors carefully to suit the opening and hardware requirements, ensuring the finished installation meets safety expectations.

04

Other Fire Door Requirements

Fire door requirements can vary depending on the building and its use. If you’re unsure which fire door applies to your property, we’ll check what’s needed and fit the door accordingly, without overcomplicating the process.

Door Materials and Styles We Work With

We work with all common door materials and styles found in UK homes and managed properties. Most doors we fit fall into the categories below, but if your door is different or more specific, it’s still something we’re used to dealing with.

Materials and styles we regularly work with include:

  • Solid core and hollow core doors
  • Timber doors including oak, pine and walnut
  • Painted internal doors in both modern and traditional finishes
  • Shaker-style and panel doors
  • Partially and fully glazed doors

If you’re unsure how your door would be classed, we’ll check the details and advise before anything is ordered or fitted.

THE PROCESS

From First Enquiry to Finished Doors

We keep the door fitting process simple and predictable. You don’t need to manage the details or worry about missing anything, we handle the work from start to finish.
Measurements and Preparation
We check the door opening, frame and surroundings to make sure everything is suitable before fitting begins. This includes confirming clearances and identifying any adjustments needed for a proper fit.
Fitting and Alignment
The door is fitted carefully to sit square within the frame. We make sure it opens and closes smoothly, with consistent gaps and correct alignment.
Locks, Handles and Adjustments
Locks, handles, hinges and hardware are installed and adjusted so everything operates as it should. This ensures the door feels solid, secure and reliable in daily use.
Final Checks and Clean-Up
Before we leave, we carry out final checks to confirm the door functions correctly and, where required, meets safety expectations. The area is left clean and tidy once the work is complete.
